Overview

Creedmoor enjoys a Council/Manager non-partisan form of government. Five board members and the mayor, all representing the community at-large, are each elected directly by the people; the commissioners for four-year staggered terms and the mayor for a two-year term.

Responsibilities

The Board of Commissioners is the policy-making body for the City of Creedmoor. The Board's responsibilities include adopting the City budget; establishing policy; enacting ordinances, resolutions, and other actions; approving appropriations and contracts; levying taxes; and granting franchises. In addition, the Board appoints the city manager, city attorney, and the members of various boards and commissions.
