Creedmoor Receives Financial Reporting Award
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Creedmoor by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Fiscal Year 2017 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). This is the ninth consecutive year the city has exceeded the level of financial reporting required by generally accepted accounting principles and state law, demonstrating the city’s level of accountability in financial activities throughout the year.
Creedmoor’s elected officials and management staff are extremely proud of this accomplishment and staff efforts to continue meeting the high standards of the GFOA, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story.
Mayor Bobby Wheeler presented the award to Jamison Crampton, Creedmoor Finance Director, during the Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, May 1. Crampton accepted the award on behalf of himself and finance department staff who prepare the CAFR based on audit reports, financial records, and other historical documents. The award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The GFOA is a non-profit professional association servicing the needs of nearly 19,000 government finance professionals with headquarters in Chicago, IL and offices in Washington, D.C.
