Bids Sought for Community Center Project

Post Date:01/11/2019 2:00 PM

Following Board approval of the Creedmoor Community Center project a little over a year ago, architects and staff have worked diligently to bring the design to fruition. Plans are complete and bids are now sought for construction of a brand new gymnasium and renovations to the existing gym and senior center.

The new gymnasium features a basketball court and elevated three-lane walking track. Renovations to the old gym include the creation of a large multi-use space suitable for group events, arts and crafts room, computer and fitness rooms, offices and a classroom. Previously bricked-over windows will be reinstalled, with the remaining brick structure left intact. The senior center remodel features an enlarged group dining area, the addition of an enclosed sunroom, and an outdoor deck overlooking the new multi-purpose field. A new parking lot, multipurpose field, and outdoor recreation area are also planned. The entire project will bring the existing facility up to code for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and accessibility.

Sealed proposals for construction of the Creedmoor Community Center will be received until 2:00 p.m. Thursday February 21, 2019, at which time and place bids will be opened and read in the Creedmoor City Hall Boardroom, 111 Masonic Street, Creedmoor, NC 27522. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in the Gymnasium & Activity Center located at 108 E Wilton Avenue (NC-56) in Creedmoor (behind CVS Pharmacy) to address project-specific questions, issues, and bidding procedures.
