Finance Department Receives CAFR Award
City of Creedmoor Receives Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting
The City of Creedmoor Finance Department is proud to announce that it has received the Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting (CAFR) by the Government Finance Officers Association. The City of Creedmoor has now received this prestigious designation for ten consecutive years, after being awarded this certificate for every fiscal year from 2009 to 2018.
The CAFR recognizes that the City of Creedmoor has gone beyond submitting the minimum financial statements required by the state. The CAFR award recognizes that the Finance Department submitted all the information required by generally accepted accounting standards and an additional statistical section giving citizens and interested parties information about Creedmoor’s tax base, debt capacity, demographic information, and performance of essential city services.
This certificate is the highest form of recognition available in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“This award emphasized the care and diligence exercised by our Finance Department, the rest of our City staff, and the Board of Commissioners as stewards of taxpayer dollars,” said Mayor Bobby Wheeler. “The hard work of our Finance Department staff gives our citizens the peace of mind to know that all procedures are being properly followed and the money they entrust to city is being spent thoughtfully and properly.”
