Christmas Tree Lighting
Creedmoor's annual Christmas Tree Lighting marks the beginning of the holiday season and is a fun event for all! Each year residents and visitors gather for the ceremony in front of City Hall at 111 Masonic Street. The tree is illuminated by hundreds of lights and brings joy to the crowd attending when the lights are turned on.
Students and choirs from surrounding schools sing carols, and Santa makes an appearance to begin preparing his list for Christmas and to take pictures with the children. This is a free event and all residents are invited to attend.
Creedmoor's annual Christmas Parade is always held on the Saturday morning after the tree lighting event. Parade participants are asked for a $20 donation to support the Creedmoor Police Department's Shop with a Cop program.
Main Street is blocked off for traffic early in the morning, with the parade beginning at 11:00 a.m. Residents usually arrive early in anticipation of finding the best spot to park and view the parade!
Parade participants roll through with candy for all; there are plenty of floats and parade goers to make the day a festive event! The parade features a very special Grand Marshal, holiday floats, marching bands, and of course, Santa himself!
Note: The Parade Participation Form will be available for download in the "Documents & Forms" box in the left navigation pane once it has been finalized for the current year.
Residents are encouraged to register for e-Notification to stay informed of event news and happenings in Creedmoor. Visit the Events Calendar page to see the date for this year's tree lighting and parade.
