Creedmoor enjoys a Council/Manager non-partisan form of government. Five board members and the mayor, all representing the community at-large, are each elected directly by the people; the commissioners for four-year staggered terms and the mayor for a two-year term.

The Board of Commissioners is the policy-making body for the City of Creedmoor. The Board's responsibilities include adopting the City budget; establishing policy; enacting ordinances, resolutions, and other actions; approving appropriations and contracts; levying taxes; and granting franchises. In addition, the Board appoints the city manager, city attorney, and the members of various boards and commissions.

The Board of Commissioners meets monthly on the first Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. to conduct the business of the City.

Unless notification is given otherwise, meetings are held in the boardroom at Creedmoor City Hall, 111 Masonic Street, Creedmoor, North Carolina.  A current board meeting schedule is available for download in the navigational panel at left.
